It sounds elementary to say that a happy employee is a more productive employee. Nonetheless, it’s true. Employers who look after their employees and make the workplace a welcoming and cheerful environment have more productive employees and less turnover. Here are five helpful tips that will make your employees glad to come to work each day.

    Make the Workplace Fun

Nobody is exactly excited on Monday morning, eagerly racing out the door to their job. People need their jobs to pay for their lives, but there is not a person alive who wouldn’t vote for the four-day work week. Making your company a little more fun for your employees can go a long way towards boosting productivity. Create workplace challenges or games that break up the tedium. Celebrate special days or milestones. Make certain days of the week more fun by allowing employees to express themselves, like casual Fridays.

    Show your Employees Appreciation

People like to know that they make a difference to the establishment. If you want more productive employees, then you need to show appreciation for what they do for you. Make sure they know that their presence at your business is important. Make an effort to not just deliver verbal praise. Buy lunch for your employees, remember their birthdays, and be generous with the Christmas bonuses.

Employees have lives outside your business. It is important for you as an employer to celebrate their personal successes as well as being compassionate and understanding of the things that happen in their day-to-day lives.

    Comfortable Working Environment

A comfortable work setting is an easy place to come to every day. Spend a little extra money to make the office warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Take your employees’ comfort into consideration. Pay special attention to things like the bathroom and plumbing. Making sure that everything is in working in order. Employees should be able to enjoy not only clean, fresh, pure drinking water but also working facilities.

Encourage Physical Activity and Healthy Foods

In many places of business, employers are supporting daily activity breaks and supplying healthy snacks and fruits for their employees to munch on. A healthy, well-nourished staff is a happy staff. When you encourage fitness breaks in the day, you will find your staff is not only more relaxed but also much more industrious from having shaken off the monotony of the day.

    Flexible Work Schedule

Not everyone works well with a 9-to-5 schedule. Some employees are early birds, some are night owls, and others have obligations outside of work that impedes on their daily schedule. Be the employer who understands and works with your employee, and you will get a loyal and grateful employee. Employees who know that their employer has gone the extra mile for them and will go the extra mile in return.

A business weighs heavily upon its employees, and its success especially depends upon loyal and productive employees. Take the time to make your employees happy, and you will find them much more productive.
